Ladies, I know you’re all on the lookout for the perfect dress for Homecoming to stun everyone around you. Well, I believe I have found the one dress that will really grab everyone’s attention.
Miss Alabama has recently been seen sporting the outfit you see here. Needless to say, it has been getting some interesting reactions. After staring in bewilderment at the dress for a few minutes, I felt a morbid need to discover what others thought and set out to get their opinions. I first headed to Mrs. Dauma, the English 11 teacher, who assured me that the dress wasn’t to be modeled in the main part of the Miss America Pageant this September 15. I researched further and found out from the International Business Times that the dress is to be worn at the parade before the pageant.
Mrs. Dauma said that the dress is “totally cool.” Bob Jones junior Michael Samaras commented that it was “pretty,” “creative,” and “over the top.” I was actually a bit surprised by their reactions, as my own reaction was extremely different. After I talked to them, I found myself somewhat less disgusted with the getup (the key word here being “somewhat”).
Some people I asked weren’t as kind about what they thought. Bob Jones junior Sarah Wroblewksi shared her thoughts, saying it “wasn’t classy” and that she was overdoing it. Emily Bohatch, a Bob Jones senior, pointed out the ensemble’s gaudiness; she informed me that, in the North where she is from, something like this would never happen. Bob Jones junior Jacob Franks, while admitting he does not really care for sports, said it was “tacky” and “redneck.”
What about you? Does this dress offend your morals and every belief you have? Or are you too busy screaming “Roll Tide!” at the screen to care?
