Bob Jones has a new wing for the school called the E wing. This wing houses more classrooms while also helping to support special education. The E wing also holds a tornado shelter along with an E-sports competition room.
While this is good news, its location is somewhat isolated. It would be hard to try and make it from the E wing to somewhere like the B or S hall between classes. According to my survey, most students (about 80%) know about the E wing; however, only a small number of students have a class within the E wing or have even been to the E wing in the month that it’s been open.
According to this Madison City School’s post, many people went to the ribbon-cutting ceremony including Superintendent Dr. Ed Nichols, BJHS Principal Sylvia Lambert, MCS Special Education Director Dr. Susan Zinkil, and Mayor Paul Finley. Travis Cummings, the vice president of Madison City School Board of Education, said the new wing affirms the school system’s mission statement of “Empowering ALL Students for Global Success.”
