Hey there, Patriots! Have you filled out your registration packets yet? Or did you claim you’d do it tomorrow, shove it into your binder with the rest of the papers you crammed in there, and completely forget about it two seconds after every time it’s mentioned? Well, if that’s the case, you’re just like the majority, including me. The clock is ticking, and the deadline, as I’m sure you’ve been reminded by countless teachers and the headline of this article, is on March 8… which is today. Hopefully you’re done and the rest of this article will be totally irrelevant to you, but if not, you may waste even more time reading the content below.
If you’re unsure about the classes you’re wanting to take, now is the time to get your pencil racing because we procrastinators are in the danger zone now. Consider your options wisely, aim for those eight credits, write them down quickly but with decent handwriting, do it again but online because it is required to do both, and hand them over to your second block teacher as soon as possible. The sooner they’re turned in, the more likely you’ll receive your most desired classes. Maybe keep that fact in mind for next time we have to deal with this monstrosity of overly complicated paperwork.
Anyway, what about PowerSchool? I thought that would render the necessity for paper forms obsolete, but I suppose I will always be wrong. Class Registration is located on the navigation toolbar to the left, right below “forms”. Once you’re there, just select that little pencil button by the green check mark, check the box that corresponds to what you’ve filled out on the paper, and continuously do so until all the requirements are fulfilled. Do not exit out of there before submitting because I learned the hard way that it wouldn’t save. This is also due on Friday. However, you can just take a picture of your physical course requests and fill it out later today.
For my last little tidbit of advice, you’ll find more information and directions on the BJHS website. I highly recommend you refer to that instead because everything you need to combat the impending doom of the last minute will be found there. If you’re unable to complete it before it’s due, you’ll be put into random classes that might be the worst for for you. Good luck!
