BJHS students eagerly shared their Thanksgiving preferences and shopping habits through a fun Google form survey. The results showed a clear love for Thanksgiving traditions and Black Friday.
Thanksgiving is more than just a day of feasting; It’s a time for families to gather, share stories and create lasting memories. While turkey is in the spotlight, mac-n-cheese is a delicious side piece at many Thanksgiving dinners. This creamy, cheesy delight provides a yummy contrast from the savory turkey. Although no Thanksgiving dinner is complete without dessert, Reagan Bouer, a freshman at BJHS, stated that her favorite part of Thanksgiving was spending time with her family and eating the homemade pumpkin pie her mom made. Before eating all the yummy food, Pamela Manzanilla, a sophomore at Bob Jones, said she loves to watch the parade, football, and hang out with her family members.
Following the Thanksgiving feast, many families look forward to another tradition: Black Friday shopping. This event occurs the day after Thanksgiving and symbolizes the transition from fall to winter. This explains the sales on Black Friday so you can get your gifts on sale! Laila Boland a freshmen at BJHS said she loves to shop and gets a thrill looking at all of her favorite things on sale.
Thanksgiving isn’t just about food; it’s also about spending time with your family and appreciating what you are thankful for. You can also make lasting memories with everyone, and those memories will keep growing the more you and your family are together. Alexander Peterson, a freshmen at BJHS, stated that during these holiday times, he goes to church, prays, and helps cook the food; he loves to help out his family, especially in these stressful times when they need help the most.
Together, these traditions create a rich tapestry of experiences that define the holiday season.
