A brand new Community Center opened in Madison recently thanks to millions of dollars in donations. The 30,000-square foot facility in Madison’s north side houses meeting rooms, a new senior center, art and crafts spaces, music rooms, gaming rooms, cafeterias, wood shops, and an outdoor performance area. There is also a multi-use gym that is used for special-needs people here in the community.
The community center is open on Mondays through Fridays but closed during the weekend. It’s open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. The center is located on 1329 Browns Ferry Road. It’s in the old Three Springs building.
New classes are currently available including a sourdough bread baking class, at the cost of $40 per person with available start and beginner recipes. Another class that is already available right now is baton twirling for beginners 13 and up on Wednesdays at 6pm-7pm and level 2 Thursdays 6pm-7pm. More classes for availability include pool/ billboard, babysitting, music, art, volleyball, basketball, frisbee, and more.
The programs will be available in the Madison Parks and Recreation app on the App Store or Google Play.
In a WHNT article, Mayor Paul Finley said that the center will bring “families and neighbors together.”
