Spring break is just around the corner and with it comes a certain freedom. But with freedom sometimes comes consequences so to help steer you away from potential accidents, here are some do’s and don’ts.
Spring break is a time for relaxation and an escape from the stress of the monotony of life. “You shouldn’t do something you would regret. You should relax and have fun and wear flip flops,” Bob Jones High School junior Taylor Sensabaugh states.
Although it may still be too cold to enjoy flip flops in their entirety, wearing them would definitely give you a glimpse of summer, which might be what you need to get through these last few belligerent, chilly days.
“Do not get in trouble. Do get out the house. Don’t get grounded. Do find a way to make money. Do not get caught doing anything illegal,” Khadijah Thompson, Bob Jones senior, explains.
Though she emphasized the word caught, it is advised to not do anything illegal whatsoever.
Do find something to occupy your time. Spring break shouldn’t be spent being bored. That’s the opposite of fun.
If a vacation isn’t in store for your spring break, make up your own vacation. Visit another town for a day or have a picnic at the park.
Don’t make your parents mad. Now that you have more time to spend with your family, it would be awful to anger them, so don’t talk back, be respectful, and ask for things politely.
Do spend time with your friends. Now school is not an excuse, so plan a hang out.
Don’t get injured. Some accidents can’t be helped, but some can be avoided. Don’t do anything reckless that will get you hurt or anybody else hurt.
Ecampustours.com advises, “DON’T be reckless with your belongings. Always be aware of where you put your wallet, purse, money, credit cards, cell phone, etc.”
And don’t forget to take a lot of pictures. What’s spring break without memories?
So have fun, be safe and make sure to come back well-rested.
