The senior class has awaited senior I.D.s since the beginning of the school year, and they have anticipated the privileges that come with them. Some students are upset with the delay while others are upset with the privileges themselves.
“If we had more privileges with them, I’d feel better about it. Free sport activities with the I.D.s, and we should be able to get out of school early,” exclaimed Tina Johnson, a Bob Jones senior.
Other students are upset because they haven’t been put into action very much. “I’m kind of disappointed with them. I think they should’ve used the senior pictures and made them all uniformed,” stated Taylor Ridgeway, a Bob Jones senior.
The administration recognizes these frustrations and are working toward making the best of the situation.
“ I am disappointed the I.D.s didn’t get here earlier. I wanted it to be on the first day of school. Senior I.D.s, I think should be used for discounted tickets at sport events, and we can do that sometimes. Seniors should have a senior-only lunch line. Other privileges I haven’t thought of. But seniors deserve this because they have persevered and have worked hard to get to their senior year. I want to make the students’ senior year different than any other year to give underclassmen something to look forward to,” stated Mr. Parker, the principal at Bob Jones.
