Friday marked William Shakespeare’s 449th birthday. To celebrate this occasion, the freshman English classes enjoyed Shakespeare Day. Students learned about the Shakespearean era, everything from food, dating, dancing, and the man himself. Instead of lecturing, the teachers wore period Shakespearean clothing and led the classes in interactive lessons.
Mr. Campbell “became” William Shakespeare and performed monologues from some of Shakespeare’s plays.
“I think Shakespeare Day will show the students about the times from which Shakespeare came, instead of a character from literature,” says Mrs. Combs, a freshman English teacher.
Mr. Parker made an appearance and recorded an amusing Principal’s Corner about the event. You can see it by following this link: Mr. Parker’s Principal’s Corner.
