Friday, March 21, the eighth graders from Discovery Middle School took a trip to Bob Jones to see a showcase of Bob Jones’ Fine Art department. At the presentation, students from Color Guard, Drama, Art, Choir, and Creative Writing spoke about their experiences in their respective classes, and urged the upcoming freshman to consider making the same choices that had made the presenters who they are today.
The event, lead by Mr. Craft, the Fine Art department head, was kicked off by a performance from the 2014 Winter Guard. Next, students headed to the auditorium to hear testimonies from art students–who showcased some of their works–and creative writing students, followed by a beautiful performance by the Patriot Singers.
The whole event was highlighted by shining performance of Mr. Craft’s own Lies about High School, a play detailing high school life and offering advice to the upcoming freshman. Another performance of the play is at 6 o’clock tonight in the Bob Jones Auditorium, in case students or parents wish to attend a second time.
