Homecoming Week 2018

Lija Abele, Graphic Designer

It’s one of the biggest weeks of the year, and as a Bob Jones student, you need to prepare. This weekend is a perfect time to visit Party City or dig through your closets to find the perfect Dress Up Day costumes.

If you haven’t already voted for Homecoming queen and king, please take the time to vote via the Patriot Path app. You can cast your vote up until September 26.

You might be in a class participating in the Homecoming door decor contest. If so, you need to have your Door or Door Plus entry ready to go by Wednesday morning before the judging. Hopefully, your class and your clubs have their Homecoming floats well underway… the parade is Thursday. Be careful tossing candy if you’re a participant! Encourage your friends and family to attend. Line-up is on Portal Lane at 5 PM.

Homecoming is all about the actual football game, and we’re going to play Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa at the MCS stadium at 7pm. Due to Homecoming festivities, you may want to purchase your tickets beforehand and arrive early. During halftime, we’ll recognize our Bob Jones Hall of Fame inductees, our Homecoming court, and crown the Queen and King.

The week will be topped off with the Homecoming Dance. If you have a date from another school, you have additional paperwork to complete. There are NO tickets sold at the door, so you need to purchase your individual or couples ticket beforehand. Finally, the dance is fun, so have a great time. BUT… make wise decisions and remember that you represent yourself, your family, your school, and your community. In the name of Homecoming Week 2018, it’s “Game On, Bob Jones!”
