Bob Jones High School Senior, Leah Lessman, recently was awarded a nomination by Congressman Richard Shelby. Leah said, “I am so honored to be one of the 24 students that Alabama Senator Richard Shelby nominated.”

Since being at Bob Jones, Leah has taken vigorous courses and has been involved in several Honor Societies and Clubs. She is also on the Bob Jones Cheer Team. Not only is she a star athlete, but carries multiple academic achievements. Leah had to request a Congressional Nomination as a part of her application to the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA). Along with a competitive school transcript and various letters of recommendation, the nomination allows her to be considered for the Service Academy. From there, they will decide her admission to USAFA.
