On 16 November, 2023, a group of 38 Bob Jones AFJROTC cadets accompanied by 3 parent chaperones along with Major and Chief went to Maxwell Air Force Base (AFB), in Montgomery Alabama. The three/four hour trip was filled with excitement as the cadets neared Maxwell AFB; for many cadets, it would be their first time on an Air Force Base.

Cadets were able to see and enter aircraft such as the KC-135, C-17, C-130, and T-1. Cadets were also allowed to fly VR F-35A’s using the Air Force’s mini VR Lab. Afterwards, cadets got to chance to go and enter the PX Exchange (A store at the military post) to purchase souvenirs and trinkets. 

The trip to Maxwell Air Force Base allowed for cadets to learn about the base, as well as the aircraft stationed there. Cadets were grateful for the the opportunity to visit a military base, and are anticipating the next field trip to Maxwell for the Beyond the Horizon Air & Space Show.
