On April 13 2024, over 40 AFJROTC cadets had the opportunity to go on a 14.2 mile hike in Monte Sano State Park.
This long hike is an annual tradition to honor those who suffered in the Bataan Death March during World War II. Cadets looped around the North and South Plateau trail three times, stopping only to grab sandwiches, chips and water to snack on during the hike. Those who completed the 14.2 miles received a lanyard as a reward.
We encourage anyone to lace up their hiking boots and take on this challenge as a remembrance to those who were in the Bataan Death March.
