Last week, we showed off our school spirit and participated in the many fun events that led up to the big rivalry football game. From milkshake contests to fun dress-up days, we prepared to beat JC! Here is what happened:
During the week of September 2-6, Bob Jones celebrated a spirit week, affectionately known as JC Hate Week. Here at BJHS, we celebrated by having a spirit week of dress-up days, a pep rally, and, of course, other contests with James Clemens.
For the last several years, James Clemens and Bob Jones have been going head to head in a milkshake purchase competition at the local Chick-fil-A. There was also a general fundraiser. Sadly, JC won the milkshake contest, but… we won the fundraiser that went along with it!
Each day last week we had the opportunity to dress up and participate in spirit week. Students love to participate in the dress-up days with their friends, and this year we had some pretty awesome themes. The themes for last week were as follows:
Monday- No School! (Labor Day)
Tuesday- PJ Day!
Wednesday- Ages Day: Freshman- Babies, Sophomores: Tweens, Juniors: Adults/Parents, Seniors: Senior Citizens
Thursday- Country VS. Country Club
Friday- RED OUT!!!!!!
I interviewed one of the three drum majors of the band here at Bob Jones, Colton Garner, to get his opinions on how he thought the game would turn out last week. “I think there is a chance we might win this game, but I am not too sure if that chance is that terribly high, but hey, who knows, maybe this year is our year… we have a lot of good players.” I also interviewed student Alexa Skelley about last week, and she said, “I really love all the dress up days and the pep rally leading up to the game. It really gets me excited for the game Friday!”
Even though we did not take home the win, we had a close game, and there was still so much fun to be had.
