On January 22, 2025, the Bob Jones High School Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) Raiders team attended a friendly training day at Rhea County HS in Evensville, Tennessee. While attending the training day, the team learned better and more efficient ways to construct a rope bridge. The rope bridge is a configuration of ropes that allows cadets to safely cross over a body of water or gaps in the ground.
LTC (Lieutenant Colonel)Johnson also taught the team new and more efficient ways to tie knots, such as the square knot, figure 8, and figure 8 hitch. LTC Johnson also offered some sage advice, “You have to believe to achieve; the key to success is believing in yourself.” He offered me this advice just minutes after we were directed to climb a dirt hill. Overall, I believe it can be said that everyone had a great time and learned a lot of new information that will be useful in future Raider competitions and practices.
