Bob Jones is bringing to the stage an original Valentine’s Day play: Fools Rush In. It goes through the story of a couple trying to keep their Now or Never hotel alive, despite it being in shambles, in modern Vegas. They seek out the help of an up-and-coming content creator and deal with some unusual guests. The play is a romantic comedy written by our very own Jesse Tilton. It’s centered around old Elvis songs and maybe he might just show up…
You can see the play on February 6th, 7th, and 8th in the Bob Jones auditorium. It’s only $10 to watch the show, either at the door or by purchasing a ticket from a theatre student. This show is a great time to watch with your family or a fun date just a short time away from Valentine’s Day. If you do buy it from a student, the money will go straight to the student’s account and help cover their costs to go to SETC.
We also need your support for the theatre department because this show helps fundraise for SETC, one of the biggest competitions for high school theatre. This year it’s in Baltimore. Bob Jones got there by winning Best in State with our one-act play Stuck With You. Community support helps the theatre department continue being as incredible as it is.
Jesse Tilton, the show’s author and technical director, stated, “Once again, the Patriot Players have created an original show… It’s a unique show that carries on the tradition of theatrical excellence at Bob Jones High School.”
When asked about the show, one of the leads who plays Nyla, Nicole New, described the show as, “a heartwarming story about love, friendship, and of course, Elvis. And it pulls off the comedic part incredibly well.” Her favorite part of the show was “watching everyone work together to create the world of Vegas.”
Come out and support our Patriot Players, and enjoy a fun show perfect for Valentine’s Day weekend!
