This weekend is the Bob Jones Swim and Dive tryouts for two weeks. These kids have been trying their best to try to be on the team and in the end it will be worth it.
Madeline Reagan has been been swimming for six years now and is prepared for tryouts. She loves swimming as much as she loves her team.
Her parents always come and support her when they win or lose. They practice Monday through Friday and she says it’s very hard but she still loves it. It can get hard when you have extracurricular activities plus school, but she gets though it like everyone else does. Swimming can be a tough sport but people seem to like it as much as people love the Olympics.
Madeline only has one coach, Mike Gunner and he’s tough on the team only for the best. They practice a lot and it can either get cold or hot when their outside. They practice in the winter inside and in the summer/fall they stay in the outside pools.
In the summer time they practice at Dublin from four to six thirty. The swim meets are usually four hours long and very tiring she says. What’s the best part of swimming? “The best part of swimming is being so close to the team,” stated Madeline Reagan.
Results will be posted after tryouts.
