The Bob Jones Soccer season is coming and tryouts are right around the corner. “I am very excited about the upcoming season,” said the head Coach Uwe Spiller at a meeting last week. Soccer tryouts start on November 13th, and the final pool of players will be picked on November 16th.
Players will compete for spots on the freshman, JV, and Varsity teams.
Last year, the varsity team ended the season with a winning record of 19-7, with a 7-game win streak. The coach is looking to repeat this success, if not do better. Last year, Bob Jones made it to the third round of the playoffs before being knocked out by Vestavia Hills.
As like Bob Jones Football, Bob Jones soccer will have to share the Madison City Stadium with the James Clemens. The Varsity and JV players practiced at the Madison City Stadium. Now, with James Clemens, arrangements have yet to be made with James Clemens on the sharing of the stadium for practices.
Another big part of the Bob Jones Soccer program is the tight budget. Kids on the soccer teams this year will have to participate in fundraisers to keep the payments for the turf field, uniforms, etc.
Get excited, because the Bob Jones soccer teams are going to be better than ever!
