Last year, the boys’ varsity soccer team upset Huntsville in the first round of the playoffs, but got put out by Grissom in the second round.
Brad Jones, a Bob Jones sophomore, says, “I hope we go all the way this year.”
Losing a couple of starters this past year, this year’s team looks a lot stronger.
Also, the boys’ soccer program is hoping to have enough freshmen to have a freshmen team this year. They almost have enough players to complete a team, but they need a couple more, so if you are a freshman soccer player who is not trying out, it would help the effort if you did.
The first soccer practice is not until January 15, but soccer tryouts are going on now, so players can condition and be in shape by the time the season starts.
Akash Patel, sophomore, comments, “I cannot wait for the season to start.”
Even though the junior varsity soccer players are not in the spotlight that the individuals on the varsity team enjoy, the junior varsity team is the hardest to make, because freshmen, sophomores, and juniors can be on it.
Wessom Toutanji, freshman, states, “I am just hoping to make the team.”
