The Bob Jones volleyball team is ranked #1 in the preseason poll. Obviously there must be something special about this team, but one question goes unanswered about the Bob Jones varsity volleyball team: will they win state again this year?

“Well, we have a big target on our backs because we won state last year, so everyone we play will want to beat us! But as a team, we’re working really well together,” said Haley Hop, a player who has played for both James Clemens and Bob Jones.

Coach April Marsh has faith in the team.  “Well, I feel like this team has set the expectations high for themselves. They are an outstanding group of girls that are working toward the same goals. The girls on this team display a tremendous amount of character. They are an enjoyable group of young ladies to be around. I know they will all be successful individuals because of their integrity and character.”

Haley Hop described their pre-game ritual. “Before we start every game, we get in a big circle and we pray. Then when we finish praying, we talk about our goals for the game and what we want to accomplish.” The team ends the pre-game ritual with their chant, “All the Way… Hey, BJ!”

Will they return with the title of state champs again this year? Only time will tell. The volleyball team faces Grissom on Aug. 28.
