Bowling: A Sanctioned Sport

A new sport has risen in the South and that sport is bowling. Bowling is officially a sanctioned sport at Bob Jones, and many students are interested.

Bowler Adam Finch said, “I’ve been bowling for 12 years, and I love it.”

30 students showed up to the information meeting. The rules state that you can’t have any more than 8 on a team, so there will most likely be boys and girls teams.  Tryouts will be held in October.  Anyone with appropriate paperwork and academic credits can tryout.

There are 10 other high schools that have committed to having a varsity bowling team as a school sport in the 7A classification. Bob Jones will compete against many of these. As this is the first year, scheduling may be a challenge.

The team will be practicing at the Madison City Bowling Center located on Hwy. 72.
