Bob Jones Prepares to Play James Clemens on Friday

Zachary Johnson, Writer

This Friday, September 7th, our own Bob Jones Patriots will face off against the James Clemens Jets at the Madison City Stadium. This match up will be the seventh between the two teams since James Clemens first started their football team in 2012. Since the 72-0 win that year, Bob Jones has won every consecutive game, but by a diminishing margin. Even though James Clemens is currently 0-2, the Jets are not to be underestimated. In the last two years, the difference in score between the Patriots and the Jets has been increasingly close.

Kickoff is slated for this Friday at 7:00 PM at Madison City Stadium. This year, Bob Jones will be the away team, and there are expected to be between 8,000 to 10,000 people in attendance. Because the stadium will be packed, you might want to arrive a bit early to ensure you get a seat and can park.

“I’ve seen both schools play this year and I cannot predict the outcome. However, I can tell you this… Friday night at 10, one team will have won and one team will have lost. That night, the players, students, band members, and cheerleaders will be out on the town laughing and talking with their friends from BOTH Schools. On Saturday morning at 6 a.m., the sun will rise no matter the outcome. On Sunday, both teams will be preparing for the next opponent,” Superintendent Robby Parker told Madison City students in an email.
