Bob Jones Varsity Baseball defeated IMG Academy 11-6 in the 2024 Perfect Game High School Showdown, leading the Bob Jones Patriots to win the championship! Player of the Game goes to Kai Kuroda, after he pitched the entire game phenomenally. Congratulations to our BJ Patriots!

IMG:

• This is IMG’s first loss since 4/15/22 and their first loss to a public school since 2/27/21
• They entered the game with a 110-7 record since 2019
• They have 15 D1 commits from 10 states
• Prior to this loss, IMG had a national ranking of #1 by PBR and a national ranking of #2 by MaxPreps 
• This loss drops their ranking to #5 nationally by PBR and #8 nationally by MaxPreps
• The Ascenders had a 36-game win streak, before losing to the Patriots
• After three consecutive championships in the Perfect Game High School Showdown, this is IMG’s first loss since 3/7/20 

BJ:

• This is the first time in BJ baseball history to win the Perfect Game High School Showdown
• Bob Jones is at their highest ranking in school history at #7 nationally by MaxPreps, we were previously ranked as high as #8 in 2020
• PBR now ranks BJ as #18 in the country and #1 in the state 
• Perfect Game now ranks BJ as #15 nationally
• BJ outscored IMG 10-1 after the second inning
