The girl’s golf season kicked off in early February. The team consisted of two new players and four returning players. The season started strong with Lauren Sheehy receiving a medal at the Madison County Invitational. Sheehy continued to lead the team to victory at the Hazel Green Invitational and the Scottsboro Invitational. The team was able to progress to sectionals which was hosted by Florence High School at Fighting Joe at Robert Trent Jones. Lauren Sheehy was the only member of the team to qualify for substate. Lauren concluded her last season on the team at substate hosted by Spain Park High School at Timberline. She shot an 82 on eighteen holes ending her season on an awesome note. Lauren plans to attend the Air Force Academy in the fall majoring in aerospace engineering. The other two seniors on the team Katie Dougherty and Chyanne Smith plan to attend Jacksonville State University and Auburn University in the fall. The girls stated that the team was a great experience with lifelong friends but they are happy to end their seasons.
