What is the Super Bowl exactly? The Super Bowl is the national championship game of the National Football League, played by the winners of the American Football Conference and National Football Conference each January or February. Created in 1966 as the result of a merger between NFL and the American Football League to “ have the best teams compete for a championship.”

The North Alabama region has some of its people who play in the Super Bowl itself. Eagles players Khari Blasingame, Nicholas Morrow, and Reed Blankenship all come from North Alabama. Blankenship’s former high school coach at West Limestone, Shelby Davis noted this “ It’s pretty big out here. You know, he’s probably the closest thing we have to a celebrity. And you know the kids are excited and it’s just cool to see his journey and where he’s at and you know the opportunities that he’s given himself through his hard work. We’re just really proud of him.”
The most iconic part of the Super Bowl is the Halftime show. This year, rapper Kendrick Lamar will be performing at this year’s Super Bowl, with R&B singer SZA as a feature. The singer who will be singing the National Anthem at the beginning of the Super Bowl will be John Batiste.
