As we close out the school year, we are also closing out the high school soccer season. This means that playoffs have started. After going 6-0 against James Clemens, our boys secured their spot in the playoffs, meaning this year we had both boys and girls soccer playing in the playoffs this year.
In the first round, both teams played Huntsville High School and came out victorious. Our boys won 2-1 and our girls won 2-0, even after one of our key players came out in the second half with a hip injury. Both teams then moved onto the second round where our girls faced Oak Mountain and had a hard 0-4 loss. The next day the boys went into overtime twice and came out on top against Vestavia Hills with a score of 2-1, winning on a golden goal to push onto the third round. Mrs. Lambert, on social media, said, “Way to go, BJ Patriots! To win a tough game in double OT shows so much grit and determination! So proud of this team effort!”
Now as we go into the final four, the first time since 2015, the boys will face Hewitt-Trussville this Thursday May 7th at John Hunt Fields. Kickoff is at 3 pm and all students who attend will be excused from 4th block if you check in with an admin at the game. Be there and be in RED!!
