The last year of high school is undoubtedly a big deal for seniors, especially in the social aspect. With having prom, homecoming, senior picnic, and graduation it can be a scary and overwhelming time, knowing it is the last year of being fully dependent on parents before you become an adult and live life in the big world.
Some seniors feel like the last homecoming in high school is a big reality check. To others, it does not really matter. “I feel like it’s the end, but I don’t feel completely grown up yet,” stated Anthony Twitty, BJHS Senior. Many seniors feel this way about their last year and can be pretty confused. Homecoming can be a time of remembrance, celebration and social unity. Spirit week can be wacky, tacky, or just fun for many. It is a time in high school that no one can forget. “I don’t care that much. I did spirit week. It’s not like a big deal. It’s just homecoming,” said Xavier Horton, Senior at BJHS. To some seniors it does not matter; but to others it is a day that they will look back on and cherish the Bob Jones High School homecoming days. High School memories can last a lifetime.
