A relevant story happened in the gaming world of Minecraft. Two people were just messing around and having fun, until a decision had to be made. The two players disagreed so often that they started having cursing wars and it ended up with the host of the match kicking the second player out.
The second player sent the host a message saying that he was going to call the SWAT team for kicking him out. The host disregarded this message and thought nothing of it. Then half an hour later, four different governmental teams showed up at the host’s house and arrested his dad. Sean Sheil says that “This accusation and gross generalization is only specific to certain gamers.”
They had him handcuffed and brought down to the ground by force. The second player told the police that the dad had shot the host player’s sister because she was pregnant at 16. Of course this accusation was false.
So, are we taking gaming too seriously? Gamer hosts need to be aware that some gamers will take things to an extreme.
