This week would normally be fall break in Madison City, but not this year. The students at Bob Jones usually have a break in between nine weeks. Some people would go on a family vacation or have a enjoyable time at home not worrying about school.
Some students are aggravated with the change. Kaley Bush said, “I think it’s unfair because students need more breaks during the school year; it gets stressful enough as it is.” Students aren’t the only ones concerned about it. Mrs. Cavender, a health teacher, agreed it could have ill effects. “I think it’s unhealthy for students to have to go that long without a break; you just can’t do that”.
Others don’t seem to mind the change. Frank Morales, a sophomore, said, “I don’t care because we get more days off in the summer.”
Regardless, the school system didn’t make the change. This change was made at the state level.
