Halo 4 is almost here! One of the most anticipated games of the year hits stores November 6th at midnight. Maybe you’ve been saving a parent note for its release, or maybe you’re looking for a Christmas present for your gaming friends. Regardless, Halo 4 is near. What’s the big deal?
Halo, following the storyline, is about a war between the humans (more specifically, the marines) versus a highly advanced alien species called the Covenant in the year of 2025.
No one knows where the Covenant came from, but we do know that the don’t come in peace. They had highly advanced weaponry and armor and were looking for a fight. The human’s answer was the Spartan program. These were kids taken at the age of 6 and trained until they were 25.
After the entire training, if they weren’t the proper height, they were just used as soldiers, but if they were, like Spartan 117, they were fitted into MJOLINR powered assault armor. But the covenant was strong, and they, one by one, picked off the Spartans until there was only one.
The last Spartan was Spartan 117. That’s where you come in. You play as this seemingly invincible Spartan that is a deciding factor in the war. Humans call you “master chief,” but the covenant call you a demon. So you travel to a world called halo, but you meet the covenant there.
Halo is an artificial world made by the forerunners. The forerunners made halo and then secured it with a new race of creatures called the Flood. The Flood also ends up being a needle in your side. But when the leaders of the Covenant (called prophets) found Halo, they realized it was a weapon of mass destruction in disguise.
So you disabled four of the seven rings in the universe, then you had a close call trying to get away from the explosion. You went into cryosleep until Cortana, your AI woke you up while you were drifting into an unknown planet.
This is where Halo 4 comes in.
