Bob Jones High School’s Technology Student Association club is entering an exciting new competition. This year TSA is competing in Verizon’s Innovation APP Challenge.
The basis of first part of the challenge is simple: design a useful app and submit a mock-up image with a written essay addressing what your app does and any problems it may have.
“It’s been fun so far. We have gone through so many different ideas to apply to our App; the brainstorming is fun,” Mary Butgereit, member of one of the Bob Jones’ teams on TSA competing, explained. “We decided to do an app that matches color selection.”
The teams can only have up to ten people. Bob Jones has two teams competing. If the judges for the challenge choose one of them as “Best Overall,” then that team advances to the second part of Verizon’s challenge, which is actually making the app.
Winning the completion is a pretty big deal. The winning teams receive up to $10,000 for their school as well as a Galaxy tablet for each member of their team. They also have the chance for two of their members and an adult representative to go to Orlando, Florida to attend the 2013 national Technology Student Association conference where they will present their winning app.
