In the Huntsville area, one word comes to mind when talking about careers:  engineering.  We all may know an engineer, but few of us actually get to experience what really goes on within these mysterious engineering offices.  For the Bob Jones engineering internship students, this experience is no secret.

The interns get the chance to gain work experience at various engineering firms in the area.  “I work at Southern Construction and Design,” describes Mitch Davis, a current intern.   “It definitely gives you a taste of what this type of engineering would be like and if this is really what you want to do.”

The engineering internship teacher, Mrs. Gaines, explains that the internship “gives students a resume right out of high school that most students don’t even have out of college.”

The upcoming interns are excited to make a name for themselves within the engineering world.

“…Our contributions to the projects of the companies are sometimes used in real life applications,” explain intern students, Yuyun Chen and Jacob Locke.

With this is mind, this internship will allow the students to finish high school with not only a diploma but also experience in the engineering field.
