Bob Jones assistant principal, Mr. Wilson has a wish; he wants a new pole barn on his property in which he can store his tractor and other equipment. To fulfill his wish, he turned to the engineering students for their developing expertise and some sample designs.
The class followed several steps to complete this project. According to Yuyun Chen, Joe Corleto, Jacob Locke, and Rain Li, these procedures included: interviewing, brainstorming, sketching, creating isometric drawings, determining supplies/cost, modeling simulations, and proposing the ideas to the client.
“He decided to amalgamate all the ideas into one design and show us the final project around March,” said Emilio Castañeda, Tate Cummings, and Fred Daso.
This project shows how students are incorporating their lessons into the real world.
Devin Alexander says, “Mr. Wilson expressed that he was thoroughly impressed with seeing our work firsthand.”
