Bob Jones is not only known for its fantastic science programs, but also its award winning art program. Art students at Bob Jones have been earning many awards lately as they work on their resumes with Mrs. Lakso. The following people have received awards:

Sophia Sandstrom, 12th grade, and Olivia Goldston, 10th grade, have received visual arts achievement awards. The Visual Arts Achievement Program provides local and state recognition for student achievement in the visual arts. The program is designed to offer encouragement to young artists, showcase their work and offer opportunities for advanced training beyond high school.

Namena Bojang’s self-portrait is the Congressional Art Contest winner for 2013. It will go to Washington, DC where it will hang for one year in the hall where the Congressmen and women walk to and from their offices to the congressional chambers.

And Paige Koester’s colored pencil drawing, “A Flower’s Diamonds”, is the winner of The Huntsville Museum of Art, Women’s Guild—Art in Bloom 2013 program cover.

Congratulations to all of the winners.
