If there’s one way to fire up a school for homecoming, it’s having an excuse to dress up in a funky costume in the name of Spirit Week.
Elaborate and unique outfits crowd the halls and fill the seats of classes at Bob Jones High School.
On Tuesday, October 8th, Bob Jones students participated in Character Day– a fun and creative way to get students excited for Homecoming. Everyone was encouraged to pick a favorite character and dress the part.
“I really enjoy Character Day because I got to see everyone dress up,” Tori Stapp, a Bob Jones senior says. “And it’s a lot of fun.”
The costumes range from complex and detailed ensembles to simple but fun attire, and while some may go all out, most students make do with what they have. There’s no shame in using your resources.
“Most people use the things they have in their closets,” Kayla Daigle, dressed as a vampire, reveals. “I did go to Walgreens for fake blood, though.”
Of course, the downside to participating in this fun time is staying in character, so to speak.
“I enjoy Character Day a lot; I’m having a lot of fun,” Jade Chambers, dressed as Pocahontas from the Disney animated classic, explained. “But it is a little nerve-wracking making sure my costume looks perfect at all times.”
Nerve-wracking or not, it is a fun and exciting experience that almost all students can enjoy.
