Seniors! Have you started thinking about where you’re going to college?
The 2013 – 2014 school year is passing faster than you can blink. The first nine weeks have already passed, and seniors have less than two hundred days until they walk across the stage at the Von Braun Center.
The College / Career Center is having tons of college representatives visit our school to talk to students about the programs they provide. Campus visits are very important. You need to know more about the college you want to attend for the next four years, and you need to know what your future home will be like. The college representatives are here to help you.
“You can get to learn more about the academics the college specializes in, what the city around it is like, and other characteristics about the college,” says Bob Jones senior Caitlyn Kilianski.
Regarding a campus visit, the first thing you need to do is arrange a time for you to go on a campus tour. During the campus tour, the admission counselor will be there, and the current college students will also be there to help explain the campus view from the students’ eyes.
Most colleges have their campus tours on weekdays during school. You don’t have to worry about being absent because college campus visit will count as excused absences. According to Mrs. Archer, who works at the attendance office, every senior can have three campus visit absence notes and juniors can have two. You will need to get a campus visit form and give it to the attendance office.
Juniors should also start to think about their college plans.
“It [college campus visits] is very helpful in your search for the perfect college,” Caitlyn Kilianski said.
Seniors and juniors should go on different colleges campus visit before deciding which one to attend. Visiting a college or speaking to a college representative could prove to be an immense help in the college selection process.
