Bob Jones Forensic Science students studied fetal pigs’ insides, which are an almost exact replica of the internal structure of humans. Some have claimed it was an immoral and a cruel act to nature. A protestor of educational dissection requirement on cjonline.com even claimed, “They won’t learn much with their eyes closed because they’re disgusted.”
Others, however, saw the benefits of dissecting and exploring such a human-like organism. “It helped me to know what my body is made up of, and how it looks on the inside,” said senior Makayla Graham. Though some may have left the lab with a lost appetite for bacon, most students agreed that their understanding of the setup and functions of the human body had greatly expanded due to the experience.
