Senioritis is a term used for high school students who have made it to their senior year and plan to take the year easy. In fact, it could be a bit too easy to the point where it’s just a form of laziness. From thinking about deadlines for school and saying, “I’ll do it tomorrow” to not studying for tests, senioritis can become a problem.
Admittedly we’ve all had that moment when we had a project and just shrugged our shoulders and said, “Whatever, my grades are good enough, so I can afford to not have a great project.” We just don’t care that much about the next test. And hey, there are people who can make good grades without studying for tests or working very hard on projects, but it’s a bad idea to completely ignore the projects you’re given or to not do any of your homework because “It’s unimportant.”
After all, the last thing you want colleges to think is that you’re lazy. It’s been shown that if you slack off in your last year, colleges will actually decide to retract their admission offer to allow you into their school.
If you want my advice, don’t go all “Tortoise and the Hare” and stop just shy of the finish line.
You’re almost done. If you want to relax, you can do that after the race is over, and if you really need the rest, you have weekends to cool your engines. Otherwise, you’ll just end up in last place with nothing to show for it.
