Many high school students lack an interest in history or politics, but some have aspirations of leading our generation into a better future. A main candidate in this category is Bob Jones junior Jordan Cozby, who recently competed in the MIT INSPIRE competition and brought home first place.

MIT INSPIRE competition is one that centers on the humanities and allows students whom are finalists present their research to a board of professors at MIT. It is such a highly intelligent and competitive event that Jordan even mentioned writing a 17-page on American Founding Fathers to get into the finals.

“Jordan is a self-motivated learner,” said Jordan’s teacher Mrs. Faris, who taught him for AP Human Geography as well as AP European history. With obvious intellect, Jordan explained his fascination with the subjects. “Throughout my time in school I’ve found history an engaging subject,” Jordan said.

But pure desire and interest wouldn’t get Jordan to where he is today- for that he must rely on his skills. “His writing skills are phenomenal and his ability to synthesize information is graduate school quality,” Mrs. Faris said. “We will be hearing his name in the future.”

For now, we will watch Jordan excel and mature in his final years of high school. “I’m not completely sure as to my future,” Jordan said. “I hope to become a public servant and hopefully run for office one day.” Mrs. Faris also noted his complete potential for his brains being behind a major political office or even running for office.

One thing is certain- Jordan Cozby is a name you will want to remember for future reference; whether as a future lawyer, senator, or even president, Jordan Cozby’s future holds unmatched potential.
