Photography Club: Making the Most of an Image

Sophia Norris, Ana Perkins, and Savon Carbon

Chances are, you have one or more social media accounts where you upload selfies and photos of your dog, your cereal, your friend making a funny face, and maybe even a pair of shoes that you can’t wait to buy.  You create and appreciate images all day long.

For those of you who want to take your photography to the next level, you should consider joining Photography Club.  It meets on Mondays from 3:30 to 4:30 in C126.

Mrs. Panagos is the sponsor.  “I provide the meeting place, but I also have a few cameras that you can check out if you don’t have one.”  Mrs. Panagos went on to say that smartphone photography is also welcome.  “If you have a DSLR camera, great.  If not, you can still do a lot with your smartphone, especially if you consider composition and lighting.”

The club will have monthly creative photography challenges.  The club was formed and is lead by student Emily Jeung.

“Emily is the leader, and I feel confident she will make the most of each hour.  She is very organized and passionate about it, and I think we can assemble a solid group of photographers under her guidance,” said Mrs. Panagos.

Emily said, “I always wanted to make a club where I can share information with students at my age and give feedback that will improve their skill of photography.”

In addition, Emily said, “This is a place where [students] can comfortably say their thoughts out loud. What distinguishes this club is that we can improve people’s skill in shortest period of time.”
