Coat Drive: Feel Warm on the Outside (and Inside, too)

Bethany Rodriguez, Writer, Photographer

Winter is here. Good news for us. Roasting marshmallows and hot chocolate are amazing during winter time. But what isn’t amazing is being cold. Most of us are blessed to be able to go home and snuggle down in warm  covers in a home that has heat. Most of us are able to bundle up when we go outside, but what about the people who can’t? As winter approaches,  there are people freezing because they are going around without warm clothes. Scarves, blankets, coats, hats, and gloves are needed.  Wouldn’t you like to help someone in need?

Bob Jones provides opportunities to donate to people in need, and the most recent event is a coat drive that is running from  November 16-20. The coats that are generously donated by staff and students will first be given to students at Bob Jones in need of one. All of the remaining coats will be given to Inside-Out Ministries. Inside-Out ministries is a place that has a lot of opportunities for people wanting to give back to the community.

The donation box is in the cafeteria and front office.  The coats don’t need to be new. Any coat you don’t use will be fine.  Every coat helps.
