Hurricane Relief Efforts
September 19, 2019
If you’d like to help those in need, this is your chance.
Hurricane Dorian hitthe Bahamas, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Although these spots were all hit, the Bahamas experienced the most destruction. According to CNCB’s news site, “Hurricane Dorian caused an estimated $1.5 billion to $3 billion worth of damage in the Caribbean.” Hurricane Dorian is the strongest hurricane to hit the northwestern Bahamas on record.
Now you may be asking, what can you do to help?
Mr. Runnion also sent out an email stating, “We will be collecting cleaning supplies and snacks for Hurricane Dorian relief efforts. Decatur Church of Christ will be transporting the supplies to the North Carolina Outer Banks and to Grand Bahamas. Please bring cleaning supplies and snacks to the Bob Jones HS front office early next week.”
If you can’t get your supplies donated in time, you can also donate money at Publix. They have the signs at each register and all donations are appreciated. This money will go to help hurricane Dorian victims and for reconstruction efforts. Now, Publix is not the only place doing this. Decatur Church is collecting items, Huntsville American Red Cross is collecting blood for people injured by hurricane Dorian, and many other organizations.
