International Observe the Moon Night This Weekend

Earthsky describes International Observe the Moon Night as a “worldwide celebration of lunar science and exploration, celestial observation, and our cultural and personal connections to the moon.” On the evening of October 5, the Rocket City will host an Observe the Moon party at the Davidson Center at the Space and Rocket Center. It’s a completely free event from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Attendees can enjoy the following:

  • Hands-on activities
  • Lots of Telescopes
  • Astronomy Van
  • Janet Ivey from “Janet’s Planet” on PBS
  • Science Magic Show
  • Dr. Bond & the Science Guys- Live Science Show
  • LED Robots (from NYC) 2 shows and a dance party
