Donate Blood on November 26th!
November 14, 2019
Do you want to help others in your community? Do you want to find out what blood type you are? Do you just want an excuse to get out of class for a little while? If you said yes to any of these questions, you should donate blood!
Bob Jones HOSA will be holding a blood drive sponsored by Life South on November 26th. Sign up at the table in the cafeteria at lunch today! All students 16 and up are eligible to donate with a parent’s permission. Parent consent forms can be found during sign up. If you are 18 you do not need a parent’s permission. Members of the community can also sign up to give blood, find out more here!
Before you give blood, remember to drink LOTS of liquids without caffeine at least 24-48 hours before the 26th, and be sure to eat a good breakfast and lunch.
You cannot donate blood if you are under 110 pounds or if you have recently lived in or travelled to any of the countries listed here.
According to Cedars-Sinai, 38% of the population is eligible to donate blood, but only 2% actually donates, and one donation can save up to three lives.
No matter what your blood type is, you can save a life! Sign up today!
