March 6 was National Unplugging Day. National Unplugging Day is yearly 24-hour detox from technology. Why is a day like this needed? The website states, “We increasingly miss out on the important moments of our lives as we pass the hours with our noses buried in our devices.”

An NPR article shared a study that documented how often kids were on their phones: “7 hours a day for teens, and nearly 5 hours a day for “tweens” ages 8-12.” In addition to being on one’s phone, kids often play video games or watch TV.

Remember to always take time to unplug from your devices and spend tie with friends and family!
