Visit the Madison Public Library!

Often, the Madison Public Library is overlooked in its small pocket of Madison; however, if you are a lover of books or are even just seeking a quiet space, it is likely a great place for you to go. Free membership is offered to all residents of Madison.

The Madison Library provides many services for the community, including weekly book clubs, study rooms and an assortment of tech that is available for checkout. However, events at the library are not limited to book clubs – non-bookish clubs and organizations use the library’s free space to meet up.

It’s the perfect place to go if you are seeking a refuge from loud environments, as you can study anywhere in the library or make use of the reading room. If you want to group study, you can reserve a study room in the library as well. If while studying, you need to print something, you have options to print in color and black and white.

The library also has its entire catalog digitized, which makes it easy to search for books and put them on hold. In the time since COVID, the library has made use of the hold-system. Not only are all the hold books conveniently situated in the front of the library, but you can also have your holds brought out to you for curbside pickup. The library is open to those who would like to browse the shelves as well.

The library has something for everyone and encourages you to visit and obtain a membership.
