A Week of National Days

Caroline Brown, Contributor

Everyone loves to sound smart, informed, and educated. Then there are those people who like to be full of strange information which is why I love national days. Most national days are strange and random, making them lots of fun to bring up. I love to walk in the door after school and wish my family a happy soft serve ice cream day or a happy unicorn day. So for those people like me here is a week of national days.

April 11, 2022

It’s National Submarine Day. Whether getting in a giant hunk of metal and going under the ocean freaks you out or sounds cool it would still be fun to wish someone a Happy Submarine Day.

April 12, 2022

It’s National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day. Personally, I take that as a sign to eat grilled cheese. The cheesier the better. Too bad it’s not also National Burn Yourself Day cause I will most likely do that too.

It’s National Scrabble Day. While I don’t like Scrabble I know some people get super serious about it. They yell, fight, and text friends to settle debates on words. If you’re one of those people this day is for you. Hope you enjoy it!

It’s National Pecan Day. Finally an excuse to debate how to say pecan. Just so you know there is only one right way.

April 15, 2022Today’s Good Friday, but it’s also National Rubber Eraser Day. Who would have thought that an eraser would have a whole day? I guess they are pretty important. Humans do make a lot of mistakes.

April 16, 2022

Today’s National Wear PJs to Work Day. If only you could wear pajamas every day. Or better yet not have to go to work and stay in bed.

It’s Easter and National Crawfish Day. Maybe you could have an easter egg hunt and put crawfish in the eggs. I also wonder what would happen if I wished someone a Happy Crawfish Day after they said Happy Easter.
