Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Mother’s Day is a holiday that occurs on the second Sunday of May. According to Wikipedia, the definition of Mother’s Day is “Mother’s Day is a celebration honoring the mother of the family or individual, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society.”

Most people celebrate Mother’s Day by giving them a gift or taking them out. So for those of you who left doing this to the very last minute, I’m going to give you a couple of ideas.

One idea is pretty simple. If you have a mom who enjoys buying their gift, get a gift card. Some people see these as careless gifts, but if you’re running low on time, it is a good option.

A second idea would be for those of you who are bakers or chefs. Cooking for someone can be seen as thoughtful, and you could make your mom’s favorite meal.

A third idea would be for those of you who are more creative and artistic. You could go with something easy, simple, and fast like a handmade card or you could make a portrait or pottery. If you were to make a card, you could make it more detailed than just grabbing some construction paper, some markers, and just saying Happy Mother’s Day with some stick figure on it. That’s all I would be able to do with my art skills, but your mom will appreciate your time and effort.

My favorite option would be a custom gift like from Etsy. You could get almost anything you wanted, and it could have some custom words on it. It could be a favorite quote they have or even something they just say a lot. You could get a piece of jewelry, a mug, maybe even an article of clothing. The only part about this is it can get a little pricey.

Last but not least, this is one of the simpler ones. You could just say “I love you.” Spend some time with your mom, watch a movie, play a board game, or maybe go on a walk.

This Mother’s Day you should show how much you love and appreciate your mom. They’ve done so much for you and they deserve to be loved.
