Bob Jones has a new club! The Council of Presidents consists of all the leaders of clubs and organizations in one club for communication and the benefit of every organization. This will help with everything from funding and volunteers to large-scale community efforts and service projects.
When speaking on where the inspiration for the club came from, Drew Crocker said, “I wanted to host a large-scale service project for Bob Jones that would make a true impact on our community. After talking with a food-packing non-profit, we settled on packing 50,000 meals for our local community which would cost $7,500. Although I was excited, I was a bit worried about raising an amount that large in a short amount of time.” The project ended successfully, but Drew noticed how tough it was to organize and find resources outside of one organization.
The problem was that Bob Jones’s different clubs were far too disconnected. The council will connect and concentrate the efforts of all organizations. It will achieve this by providing volunteers and resources that just one organization would not have access to.
People in leadership roles of all kinds will meet regularly to discuss support for new ideas. Organizations will present new ideas for activities or initiatives. The Council of Presidents (COP) will then try to help out in many different ways. The council is all about building stronger clubs and organizations for everyone.
This council is a huge step for the many different communities and people that surround these clubs. Organizations and clubs of all kinds are vital.
To Drew, the council’s primary goal is to be dedicated to “building a stronger, more interconnected student body through collaborative initiatives and effective communication” and “enhancing the atmosphere at Bob Jones by providing these organizations with financial support and volunteer connections.”
The community is looking forward to seeing how this new organization will strengthen Bob Jones and continue with its promising start.
