Spooky stories are the perfect choice for Halloween festivities. Some of our English classes and the EL classes at Bob Jones collaborated on Halloween to create an interactive experience for their classes and anyone else in the upstairs S hallway. You may have seen the displays and booths that were designed for the event.
Mrs. Stephanie Armbrust, Mrs. Sharon Rowland, and Mrs. Nichole Murray planned a fun literature-inspired event for the EL students, Pre-AP English 10 students, and the AP Language and Composition class.
Mrs. Murray said, “We focused on ‘The Landlady’ by Roald Dahl and ‘The Black Cat’ by Edgar Allan Poe. The students paired up to work together to dive deeper into these stories through Escape rooms, two-sentence horror stories, superstitions, urban legends, grammar edits, word searches, and trivia games.”
This was a fun-filled way to engage students and to move beyond traditional classroom activities.
Mrs. Murray added, “We were excited to work together on this spookiest of days. Next semester, we are planning more collaborative activities.”
